Prime Minister Andrei Blinkovic was in Sisak today, as he and other senior officials visited the area devastated by recent earthquakes.

Precisely at midday, Blinkovitch was among those who witnessed the removal of the severely damaged bell tower of Sisak Cathedral to glorify Saint Croce. The cover of the 15-ton, 14-meter bell tower has been successfully removed by experts.

As the head of the fire department of the Zagreb City Public Utilities Company, Marco Adamcic, who led the operation, said, given the significant damage to the building, it was a very sensitive operation that had been preceded by two days of preparation.

In order not to endanger the neighboring buildings and protect the citizens, it was decided not to demolish the bell tower, but rather to remove it from the bricks.
