Another 4.4 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits

In the fifth week in a row, millions of American workers applied for unemployment benefits, seeking financial relief, as businesses were shut down during the coronavirus pandemic.

First-time unemployment benefit claims totaled $ 4.4 million in the week ended April 18, after seasonal adjustments were made, the U.S. Department of Labor said.
