MET Malaysia reports that earthquakes struck Sabah twice within 3 hours on April 18th

On the night of April 18 at 11.10 PM, the Malaysian Meteorological Department posted on Facebook that an earthquake occurred in Ranao, Sabah.

The earthquake is said to have occurred 11 km west of Ranau, Sabah, and had a magnitude of 2.8. It was relatively shallow, only 10 kilometers deep.

However, the earthquake returned for the second time at 1.05 AM, this time, it occurred at the epicenter, 14 kilometers west of Ranau. It hit 2.7 on the Richter scale and was 14 kilometers deep.

Two earthquakes were felt by those who live in Ranau.

In June 2015, Ranau was hit by a magnitude 6.0 earthquake, killing 18 people and injuring 11 others. It was the second largest earthquake ever to hit Malaysia.
