A 5.2-magnitude earthquake was reported early in the morning near the city of Surigao, Surigao del Norte, Karaja, Philippines, according to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ). The earthquake struck on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 5:41 am local time. Shallow depth 10 km. Shallow earthquakes are more strongly felt than deep earthquakes because they are closer to the surface.
