Brian Goldner, Hasbro director at Hollywood Vision, dies at 58
For much of his time with the company, based in Pawtucket, RI, Mr. Goldner adopted a brand model that reinvented Hasbro as a games and entertainment company.
He walked into a traditional toy company that made stuff, and he thought we weren’t in the manufacturing business but in the storytelling business, Rich Stoddart, interim CEO of Hasbro, said during a telephone interview.

Some people said, yeah, yeah, that looks good, Stoddart said, but Goldner had to keep pushing to make his vision a reality. He didn’t hesitate, because he believed up to his toes that it was the right strategy.
Mr. Goldner’s efforts to tell stories using the Hasbro brands went even further in 2019 with the $ 3.8 billion acquisition of Entertainment One, a Canadian production studio also known as eOne. At the time, she was producing the popular children’s series Peppa Pig and PJ Masks.
