UFC fighter Tony Ferguson arrested for drunk driving after crash in Hollywood – Daily News
UFC fighter Tony Ferguson was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after his pickup truck slammed into parked vehicles in Hollywood on Sunday morning and overturned, authorities said.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and were able to extricate Ferguson and a front passenger from the overturned Chevrolet Silverado. The couple escaped with minor injuries and were not taken to hospital, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The crash happened at 1:47 a.m. in the Sunset Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue area, where Ferguson initially refused to take a breath test, authorities said.
He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving at the LAPD’s Hollywood Station, and his bail was set at $30,000, according to Officer Norma Eisenman of the LAPD’s Media Relations Division.
Ferguson was still in custody at the Hollywood LAPD station as of Sunday morning, according to inmate records online.
Ferguson, 39, was born in Oxnard and has a lifetime record of 26-8, despite having lost his last five fights. He was the interim UFC lightweight champion from October 7, 2017 to April 7, 2018.
