Bengaluru Rave Party: Telugu actor Hema among 86 tests positive for drugs | Bangalore News
Significantly, 86 people, including an actor, tested positive for narcotics after being tested following a descent to the GR farmhouse in Hebbagodi, on the eastern outskirts of Bangalore. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested five people.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda said on Tuesday that 101 people attended the rave party. The rave party, titled Vasus Birthday: Sunset to Sunrise Victory, was organized by one Vasu from Hyderabad, as stated in the FIR.
Sources informed indianexpress.com that despite Bangalore Police's internal policy of treating drug users as victims of abuse, stern action would be taken against the participants in this case.
During the raid, CCB officials recovered 15.56 grams of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), 6.2 grams of cocaine, six grams of hydroganja and five cell phones. Two vehicles were also seized.
Those arrested were identified as L Vasu, 35; V Ranadheer, 43, Mohammad Abubakkar Siddiqui, 29, YM Arunkumar, 35, and D Nagababu, 32. A complaint was lodged at the Electronics City police station.
On Monday, Telugu actress Hema posted a video claiming that she was not part of the rave and was “chilling out” at a farmhouse in Hyderabad. However, CCB sources confirmed that she made the video while detained at the GR farm. Police are investigating how she accessed the phone and when the video was recorded.
Another Telugu actress, Ashi Roy, on Wednesday posted a video admitting that she had attended Vasus' birthday party but was unaware that it was a rave involving drugs.
CCB sources did not say whether she tested positive for drugs.
