Anita Hill launches MyConnext to help people report abuse in Hollywood
A new one online service, MyConnected, will provide entertainment industry professionals with information on how to report harassment and misconduct in the workplace. The service comes via the Hollywood Commission, an organization whose mission is to combat abuse and power disparities in the film world, led by Anita Hill.
“MyConnext is a powerful, secure, all-in-one new online tool, resource center and reporting system for entertainment industry workers exploring their options when faced with harassment, 'bullying or other abuse in the workplace', a message on the Hollywood Commission website said. “Workers will have access to a ‘queue to match’ tool, as well as impartial advice from a mediator who can help them choose their own path. MyConnext participating organizations include the DGA, WGA, SAG-AFTRA and the Kennedy/Marshall Company, according to LeWrap. Anyone working for Netflix productions in the United States will have access to the service, as will workers associated with certain Amazon productions.

Hill, a lawyer, rose to prominence in the early 1990s when she accused then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment. After a widely televised hearing, in which Hill recounted her allegations, and a debate on Capitol Hill, the Senate confirmed Thomas as a judge by a slim margin of 52-48.
