Pakistani actor dies
KARACHI: Veteran Pakistani actor Talat Hussain died at 83 after a prolonged illness in Karachi.
According to details, Talat Hussain, one of the best actors of Pakistan's showbiz industry, passed away on Sunday after a long illness. His family and Arts Council Chairman Ahmed Shah confirmed his death.
Sources said Talat Hussain was diagnosed with dementia, a condition which had deteriorated to the point where he was unable to recognize people.
As a result of smoking, his lungs had become weak and frequently filled with fluid, requiring multiple hospital visits to drain the fluid.
The illness had confined him to a wheelchair and a bed, and he was being treated at home. However, recently his daughter, Tazeen Hussain, asked her fans to pray for her father.

Talat Hussain, 83, has appeared in numerous Pakistani and foreign films, dramas and plays throughout his illustrious career, which spans over six decades.
His acting credits also include British titles TrafficAndFamily prideas well as the Norwegian filmImport / Export,for which he won the Amanda Award at the Norwegian International Film Festival. He was also part of the Indian filmSatan's daughterand had an appearance in the biographical epicJinnah.
Born in 1940, the famous actor was married to professor Rakhshanda Hussain and was the father of three daughters and a son.
Hussain, studied at the London Academy of Music and Drama and was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) in 2021 and the Pride of Performance Award in 1982 by the Government of Pakistan.
He also received the Amanda Award in 2006 for Best Supporting Actor in a Norwegian film “Import Eksport” and the Nigar Award in 1986 for Best Supporting Actor in the film “Miss Bangkok”.
