Eat Great Food Festival Moves to Bay City This Year

True to its commitment to be a regional event, the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational is moving the Eat Great Food Festival from Midland to Bay City this summer, and it will coincide with Rockin ‘the River.

The food festival, which showcases the region’s culinary talent and mobilizes the public, is part of the Dow GLBI LPGA tour, launched last year. The tour takes place at the Midland Country Club, and last year was the first year of a five-year engagement.

“With partners and guests from across the Great Lakes Bay area, we want to highlight a different community each year,” said event director Mark Baczewski in an announcement. “The goal is to showcase the unique culinary talent we have throughout the region in a fun and lively atmosphere.”

This year, the Eat Great Food Festival is in partnership with Rockin ‘the River, an event in downtown Bay City that features boat racing and live music from July 10 to 12. The food festival will add to that by showcasing more than 60 companies in the food and beverage industries on July 12 and 13.

“We are thrilled to bring Eat Great to downtown Bay City this summer,” said Baczewski. “By teaming up with Rockin ‘the River, there will now be four days full of events and entertainment. Eat Great will offer over 100 local flavors to sample, shows and chefs from many of the area’s best restaurants. “

Tickets for the food festival are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.eatgreatfoodfestival.com. It will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. both nights, and ticket buyers will also have access to concerts after the end of the food and beverage sampling period. From 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., live music and a variety of concessions will take over.

The opening night concerts are presented by the group Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Cheap Trick. The groups for the following evening have not yet been announced. Tickets for the Sunday event are $ 60 for adults, $ 40 for 13-20 year olds and free for children 12 and under. Monday tickets are on sale for $ 45 per adult, $ 25 for 13-20 year olds and once again free for children 12 and under.

Hosted at the Midland Country Club, the Dow GLBI is free and open to the public during the July 13 training rounds and the Pro Am on July 14, with official tournament rounds scheduled for July 15-18.
