Representative Topeka: local actor to appear in Super Bowl commercial

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Super Bowl is one of the biggest nights on TV and for some it’s all about the commercials. Some commercials make us laugh, others will bring tears to our eyes and some will have a political message, but this year Northeast Kansas will have to keep an eye out for one of its own actors.
Russ Hutchison is a real estate agent with Keller Williams. He’s a Chiefs fan by day, but by night he plays Vince Lombardi – the namesake of the Super Bowl trophy and coach of the Green Bay Packers when they beat the Kansas City Chiefs in from the first Super Bowl.
“The only reason I put my name in the hat, and it’s God’s honest truth, is because Lombardi had a hole in his teeth,” Hutchison said with a smile.
Hutchison cannot tell us which company or organization the ad was filmed for prior to airing because he signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement). But he can say that he is very grateful for the opportunity to play what he and many others consider to be one of the greatest football coaches of all time.
While he was hoping the Packers would make it to the Super Bowl in 2021 to create that first game between the Chiefs and Green Bay, he’s still thrilled to represent Topeka on TV screens in northeastern Kansas, a place that he says he has a lot of talented actors.
Hutchison is part of the Spirit theater which airs on KTWU. He is proud of the work they have done, not only for the community, but for the whole country to benefit.
The commercial took three weeks to film, but the wait for it to air was an unforgettable experience.
