Prince’s unreleased album ‘Welcome 2 America’ finally released this summer
Prince’s unreleased album in 2010 Welcome 2 America is singer Vault’s next offering, with the LP finally due out this summer.
Prior to Welcome 2 AmericaOn July 30, the Prince Estate shared the title track, a spoken word soliloquy that criticized social media, celebrity culture, music industry monopolies, and more:

Registered over ten years ago, Welcome 2 AmericaPrince’s 12 tracks – 11 Prince originals and a cover of Soul Asylum’s “Stand Up and B Strong” – were never released, although a few were either performed live by Prince or appeared via live music. one-off webcasts or radio premieres.
After recording the album with his 2011 New Power Generation lineup at his Paisley Park studios, Prince embarked on his Welcome 2 America tour in 2011, which culminated with his historic 21 Nite Stand at Inglewood’s California Forum. The unpublished concert video of the concert on April 28, 2011 at this residence is featured on the luxury edition Welcome 2 America.
During this show, in addition to performing his own hits like “Little Red Corvette”, “1999”, “Purple Rain” and “Let’s Go Crazy”, Prince delivered covers of tracks like “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan. “What Have You Done for Me Lately Lately” by Janet Jackson, “Misty Blue” by Eddy Arnold, “Brown Skin” by India.Arie, “Play That Funky Music” by Wild Cherry, and the last song of the evening, “More Than This” by Roxy Music.
Welcome 2 America, available for Pre-order now, will be released digitally, on CD, as a two LP vinyl set (with Side D engraving) and a full deluxe edition with the Blu-ray housed in deluxe gold foil packaging with a 32-page accompanying book and embossed vellum envelope containing exclusive Welcome 2 America-will be ephemeral. In addition, “Welcome 2 America” will be released as an exclusive Prince Store Limited edition 7 inch single backed by a live version of the song recorded at 21 Nite Stand on May 14, 2011.
The non-vault of Welcome 2 America follows the massive reissue dedicated to O sign the time which arrived in September 2020.
