Light up the tower: Texas men's golf wins Big 12 championship
The Longhorns win their ninth overall Big 12 title and first since 2017 with a dominant 18-shot victory.
The UT Tower will shine with burnt orange lights on Wednesday, April 24 in honor of Texas men's golf team winning the Big 12 championship.
The No. 17 Texas men's golf team posted a team score of 12 under par, 276, on Wednesday to win the Big 12 championship in dominant fashion at Whispering Pines Golf Club. It was the ninth Big 12 Conference team title for the Longhorns and first since 2017.
Texas will host the NCAA Division I men's golf selection show on Wednesday, May 1. The show will air from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the center and will be televised nationally by Golf Channel. The University of Texas will be one of six regional host sites, as the competition takes place at the University of Texas Golf Club from May 13-15.
As part of campus tradition, the tower is bathed in burnt orange lighting from top to bottom when a University of Texas athletics team wins a conference championship.
