Yada Fair Trade & Resale was founded by Beth Williams when she said she learned that more than 200 people were being trafficked in Madison each night.
MADISON (WKOW) — A Middleton nonprofit works with local women and their children who have been sexually exploited and trafficked.
Yada Fair trade and resale was founded by Beth Williams when she said she learned that more than 200 people were being trafficked in Madison each night.
She started Yada with the aim of raising awareness about trafficking and creating a space where vulnerable women and their children could feel supported and known.
Yada has a resale store where women referred by local agencies can purchase clothing and household items for free.
They have also expanded their services to include a drug treatment group, job training, tutoring, an auto care clinic and a respite daycare.
Yada is set to celebrate three years of working in the community with a fashion show fundraiser.
This will take place on Monday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Goodman Community Center.
Beth and trafficking survivors Angelique Camp and Krystal Moore stopped by 27 News at 4 p.m. to talk about the event and their experiences.
