Actor Imran Khan has clarified that his reason for turning down a spy series was misinterpreted as criticism of Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Animal'. In the latest interview, Imran denied any connection with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film when he expressed his reservations over glamor violence.

In an interview with Zoom TV, Imran Khan clarified that in his previous interview, he was talking about a series offered to him which he had rejected because it did not suit his personality. Talking about the same, he said, “I was talking about a role that was offered to me. People like to take these things and do something else with them. I would never criticize someone else's film in public. I find this disrespectful. I was raised in such a way that I praise in public and criticize in private. If you must criticize someone, do it in private.

Further, the 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' actor added, “Honestly, I was talking about how last year I had started conversations with Abbas Tyerwala to star in a show he was doing. The action takes place against a backdrop of espionage. In the end, the series fell through but I was approaching my role. My character was a spy, an action guy. There was a lot of violence and I didn't want to play that kind of role. however, development of the series later ceased.
