PM Modi launches infrastructure projects worth 11,200 crores in Maharashtra
One of the highlights was the launch of the Pune Metro District Court section at Swargate, thereby completing Phase 1 of the project.
The cost of the two kilometer (km) underground segment is estimated to be around `1,810 crore.
PM Modi also laid the foundation for the Swargate-Katraj extension, a 5.46 km fully underground stretch with stations at Market Yard, Padmavati and Katraj, which will be developed at a cost of around 2,955 crore.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Bidkin Industrial Area, a sprawling 7,855-acre development under the National Industrial Corridor Program, located about 20 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
This project, which is part of the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor, is expected to become a key economic hub for the Marathwada region.
The central government has approved an investment of over 6,400 crore in this project which will be completed in three phases, officials told PTI. .
PM Modi also opened the renovated Solapur Airport, improving connectivity and serving around 4.1 lakh passengers annually.
Finally, he laid the foundation stone of the memorial of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule's first girls' school in Bhidewada, commemorating her contributions to women's education.
