Prosecution gets more time in Imran cases – Journal

LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday granted more time to the prosecution to present its arguments on pre-arrest bail pleas of PTI founder president Imran Khan in four cases of riots in May 9.

Earlier, advocate Salman Safdar appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner. He said the court gave the prosecution 11 opportunities to present its case.

Now people are questioning me on social media because of the delay in the procedure, he said.

The lawyer said he even received a message from the jail, asking about the state of affairs in Lahore.

Justice Arshad Javed adjourned the hearing till November 8.

The hearing on Imran's bail pleas in four other cases was postponed due to the judge's unavailability.

PETITION: A sister of Imran Khan has approached the Lahore High Court seeking details of the cases registered against him.

Noreen Niazi filed a petition, claiming her brother was continually the target of political vengeance through new cases. She argued that every citizen has the right to be informed of the proceedings against them. Stating that there were unknown cases registered against Imran, she asked the court to direct the authorities to provide details of all cases against him. She also urged the court to prevent the arrest of her brother in any unknown case.
