'PM Modi's speech was historic': Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India]December 15 (ANI): Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Parliament and termed it “historic”.
Speaking to ANI on Sunday, Patel said “Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech was historic. It will be remembered forever. The INC, its members and their leader have repeatedly made a mockery of the Constitution .The type of language their leader is using is unconstitutional.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress in his response to the two-day debate on the Constitution in Parliament and accused it of consistently disrespecting the Constitution. He outlined eleven commitments for India's bright future, noting that the government and people should follow. their functions and the politics of the country should be free from “parivarvad”.
Responding to a two-day discussion in Lok Sabha on 75 years of the Constitution, Prime Minister Modi repeatedly referred to the Nehru-Gandhi family, accusing each generation of its leaders of disrespecting the Constitution.
Moreover, Patel spoke about the One Nation One election and said that it was the need of the hour and it was important for Indian democracy.
“It is the need of the hour. It is very important for Indian democracy. Frequent elections create animosity, law and order problems also arise. If elections are held even once, the government will have the chance to work fully for 5 years, so we I think it is very important… Under the leadership of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, we are also heading towards single state elections,” said Patel.
On December 12, the One Nation, One Election Bill was approved by the Union Cabinet, paving the way for its introduction in Parliament. However, before its introduction in Parliament, the bill sparked a debate between the ruling and opposition parties.
Several parties from the INDIA bloc opposed the bill while parties from the BJP-led NDA alliance welcomed the bill, saying it would save time and lay the foundation for elections unified across the country.
Notably, in September this year, the Union Cabinet approved the 'One Nation, One Election' proposal, which seeks to hold elections to the Lok Sabha and Assembly simultaneously, as well as urban and panchayat polls, within 100 days.
The recommendations were presented in a report by a high-level panel chaired by former President Kovind. (ANI)
