PM Modi extends Hanukkah wishes to Netanyahu

New Delhi [India]December 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended Hanukkah wishes to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and people across the world celebrating the festival.
Prime Minister Modi hoped that the radiance of the festival would illuminate everyone's life with hope.
“Best wishes to Prime Minister Netanyahu and to all people around the world celebrating Hanukkah. May the glow of Hanukkah illuminate everyone's lives with hope, peace and strength. Hanukkah Sameach!” » said Prime Minister Modi in an article on X.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday extended Hanukkah wishes to Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Sa'ar and the global community celebrating the festival.
Sa'ar thanked “dear friend” Jaishankar for his wishes.
“Thank you, S Jaishankar, dear friend, for your warm Hanukkah wishes and kind words.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar extended Hanukkah wishes to people and explained the importance of the Jewish holiday.
Azar shared a video on X that explains the history of the Jewish holiday.
In a post on X, the Israeli Embassy in India said: “This year, Hanukkah coincides with Christmas. But have you ever heard of Hanukkah? Come listen to our Ambassador Reuven Azar as he shares the Jewish story of resilience and acceptance. The Israeli Embassy in India wishes everyone a Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!”
Azar said: “At Hanukkah we celebrate the victory of light over darkness. Over 2,300 years ago, the greatest empire of the time, the Seljuks, attempted to completely erase our faith, the Jewish faith. But thanks to a small family in the middle of Israel called Maccabees, we managed to re-dedicate our temple in Jerusalem and retain our identity.”
Azar added that during the holiday, they light the menorah, a symbol of respect for other faiths.
