Melanesia launches an aid appeal to support victims of the Vanuatu earthquake

The Anglican Church in Melanesia (ACoM) has launched an appeal for help after a 7.3 magnitude earthquake rocked the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu, killing at least 16 people and injuring several hundred. Telephone, electricity and water services were severely damaged or destroyed in Port Vila, the largest city in Vanuatu, a group of 80 islands inhabited by about 330,000 people.
