Former senior US official: Trump prioritizes direct negotiations with Putin and Xi
A foreign policy adviser to the new US administration says President-elect Donald Trump should prioritize direct negotiations with Russian and Chinese leaders after taking office.
Steve Yates served as Deputy National Security Advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney from 2001 to 2005, while George W. Bush was president.
Yates spoke to NHK in an interview on Friday.
