The Suva High Court further remanded Imran Khan, also known as King Khan, and a plea date was set for next month.

Khan appeared before High Court Judge Thurshara Rajasinghe this morning. He was represented by Jerry Dinati while Moira Konrote represented the state.

The state’s attorney requested more time from the court to file additional disclosures and information.

Justice Rajasinghe asked Khan’s lawyer Dinati to prepare with admitted facts if his client pleaded not guilty. The judge gave the state 14 days from today to file its additional disclosures and information.

Meanwhile, Dinati subsequently requested 14 days to plead. Dinati did not object to Khan being remanded in custody for more than 14 days at the judge’s request. The lawyer said he would soon file a bail application for Khan.

Khan is charged with one count of violating a restraining order after allegedly disposing of a vehicle that was the subject of an initial restraining order in a civil matter.

The order related to $400,000 worth of property, cash held in a bank account and four vehicles. It is alleged that he facilitated the transfer of the KNGKHN vehicle registration to his brother, Ifran Khan, thereby violating a restraining order issued in 2023.

The case will be recalled on June 11.
