According to Ahmad Ali, Jokowi is physically ready to travel to Indonesia. However, the age factor remains an important factor. He explained that Jokowi had made a full recovery and his spirit remained strong, but he needed to be carefully examined because he was no longer young.

Objectives and strategy

Jokowi’s visits to various regions are said to be part of a review of his leadership journey over two periods. Ahmad Ali stressed that this activity was aimed at greeting the public and celebrating Jokowi’s political journey. Aside from that, he also assured that PSI cadres would accompany Jokowi whenever he visited an area.

However, so far the PSI has not been able to confirm the exact date of the start of Jokowi’s blusukan. His party is still waiting for further coordination with Projo, responsible for developing the plans.

Political communication observer from Esa Unggul University, Jamiluddin Ritonga, gave a critical opinion on the PSI’s plan to involve Jokowi in its political agenda. According to him, this approach is considered speculative and could turn against the PSI.

Jamiluddin believes that Jokowi today no longer has the appeal he once had. He said Jokowi’s figure is now considered controversial, especially regarding the issue of his degree. Therefore, Jokowi’s presence on the PSI agenda may not be effective in increasing the party’s electability.
