Speaking to Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, who attended the event, Huang said Taiwan would need much more electricity because while “human work needs food, AI work needs electricity.”

The event took place at Beitou Shilin Technology Park, where construction of Nvidia’s Taiwan headquarters is expected to begin in late 2026.
