BANGKAPOS.COM — The absence of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Pancasila 2026 anniversary ceremony surprised the public.
It is known that the Pancasila anniversary ceremony was held on Monday (1/6/2026) at the Pancasila Building of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu).
Jokowi was absent from the ceremony, while Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Megawati Soekarnoputri were on the official invitation list.

Jokowi then provided details on the former president’s absence.

Jokowi’s aide AKBP Syarif Fitriansyah revealed that the main reason Jokowi was not present was due to administrative issues related to the invitation.
“Until this morning, we had not received an invitation for Mr. Joko Widodo to attend the Pancasila birth commemoration ceremony, either in the form of an official letter or other communication,” Syarif said in Solo, Central Java, Monday (1/6/2026) as quoted by Tribunnews.con.
Due to the lack of official communication from the organizing committee, Jokowi chose to stay in Solo.
“Therefore, you did not attend the activity,” Syarif added.
Meanwhile, the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, experienced different conditions.
Contrary to Jokowi’s statement, it was confirmed that SBY received an invitation to travel to Jakarta.
However, SBY could not be physically present because he already had an agenda that could not be left out of town.
Chairman of the Democratic Party Expert Council Andi Mallarangeng explained that SBY was in West Java when the ceremony took place.
“Now we are in Bandung. Thank you for the invitation, but Mr. SBY already has a series of events in Bandung until the 1st,” said Andi Mallarangeng.
The presence of Megawati was highlighted
At the Pancasila 2026 anniversary ceremony, the warmth of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri.
