Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has highlighted the importance of industrial development and foreign investment, saying both are essential to achieving sustainable economic growth and long-term prosperity in Pakistan.

Chairing a review meeting on investment promotion and economic reforms, the Prime Minister said strengthening the industrial sector and expanding exports remained among the government’s top priorities.

He noted that policies to increase industrial production and strengthen export capacity were essential to ensure economic stability and improve public welfare. He added that reforms in the industrial and commercial sectors were being developed to generate wider economic benefits.

Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the government’s efforts to formulate a comprehensive strategy to meet future energy needs through alternative energy sources. He highlighted the need to save energy and implement an effective electric vehicle policy to support affordable and environmentally sustainable transportation.

The Prime Minister called for wider adoption of modern technologies in various sectors and highlighted the importance of consultation between ministries and experts to strengthen policy making and execution.

He further said that transparency, efficiency and better coordination among government institutions remained key elements of the administration’s governance agenda.

The meeting was briefed on a number of policy proposals related to economic reforms and investment promotion, while senior government officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister and federal ministers, participated in the discussions.
