KP CM opens office to fight corruption

Citizens can report corruption cases and grievances via telephone, social media and WhatsApp.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has inaugurated an anti-corruption office in the Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell to facilitate registration of corruption complaints and reports.

Citizens can now lodge complaints regarding corruption directly with the chief minister. A dedicated telephone number, 091-9222451, has been allocated for this purpose, allowing people to easily contact the mobile.

Special grievance offices have also been established for people residing in Zamong Kor and shelter homes to provide them with an effective platform to register and resolve their grievances.

The Chief Minister visited the complaints cell located at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where he personally interacted with citizens, listened to their complaints and received feedback on grievance redressal.

On the occasion, CM Afridi said, “I had promised the people that every complaint would be addressed. Today, we are presenting to the public the practical proof of this promise.”

He added that any citizen who reports administrative or financial irregularities will find the Chief Minister firmly on his side. “The public should file complaints and the government will ensure their resolution,” he assured.

The chief minister further said that the CM’s complaints cell, established as per the vision of founder President Imran Khan, is becoming more effective. Complaints can now also be registered via WhatsApp, email, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), while every mobile phone user will be able to file a complaint directly.

Afridi made it clear that he would personally monitor public complaints and ensure their timely resolution. “We will neither allow public trust to diminish nor any injustice,” he said. “Each complaint will be treated as a personal matter and resolved accordingly.”

He urged the population not to lose hope, stressing that the government was at their side. “Our only interest and priority is the well-being of the population,” Afridi added.

“Only policies that serve the public interest will be implemented in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and provincial welfare as well as public trust will be given priority in every decision,” he concluded.

Later, the Chief Minister directed the staff of the Grievance Cell to adopt a courteous attitude towards the complainants and ensure speedy resolution of their grievances.
