Illegal Mining Case, Prosecutor’s Office Supports Lampung East Prosecutor’s Proceedings

INILAMPUNGCOM — The case of illegal sand mining practices in Pasir Sakti District, Lampung East, which allegedly involved former Lampung South deputy regent Eki Setyanto, received special attention from Kajati Lampung Danang Suryo Wibowo.

It is proven that the Prosecutor’s Office will provide assistance and supervision to the Lampung East District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) in handling the case of alleged irregularities in the sand mining permit in Pasir Sakti District.

Head of the Lampung Prosecutor’s Office Ricky Ramadhan confirmed that the Special Criminal Team (Pidsus) of the Lampung East Prosecutor’s Office carried out a search at the home of former Lampung South deputy regent Eki Setyanto in Merak Batin, Natar, Lampung South, several days ago.

“It’s true, agents from the Lampung East Special Prosecutor’s Office carried out a search at the house of the former deputy regent of Lampung South with the initials ES,” said Ricky Ramadhan when met at the Lampung Prosecutor’s Office, Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

According to Ricky, the search was carried out to find and obtain evidence related to the investigation into alleged irregularities in the sand mining permit. A number of important documents, allegedly linked to this affair, are the subject of research by investigators.

“Currently, the case is still in the investigation stage by the Lampung East Special Prosecutor’s Office. In this case, the Lampung Prosecutor’s Office will supervise and assist the process of handling this case,” he said.

Previously, the Lampung East Prosecutor’s Special Investigation Team raided the house of Eki Setyanto in the Lampung South area as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities in the 98.8-hectare sand mining permit operated by PT Silika Timur Abadi (STA).

Following the search, investigators confiscated a number of important documents and cash believed to be related to the case under investigation. In addition, the sand mining site in Pasir Sakti District, Lampung East, was also sealed by the Prosecutor’s Office as part of the investigation process.

So far, investigators continue to investigate alleged violations in the issuance and implementation of mining permits and collect evidence to reveal the responsible parties in this case.
