Freedom 250, a Trump-backed organizer that has held several events for the 250th anniversary of the United States, said the competition would take place August 9-11.

Participants will be high school students aged 14 to 17 who will have to go through the application and selection processes to be selected, resulting in one male and one female athlete from each state or territory competing.

Applicants will need to submit basic information, their social media handles if applicable and a video of themselves explaining why they want to participate, how the sport has shaped who they are and what the scholarship would mean to them, according to the application page.

Participants will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for themselves and a chaperone to Washington, DC.

The competition will stream on the ESPN app and air in a one-hour primetime special on ABC on Aug. 13, according to Freedom 250.

One male and one female athlete will be able to win the competition.
