PTI govt presented strong budget in KP, merit prevails: Barrister Gohar

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Lawyer Gohar Ali Khan on Wednesday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government presented a strong budget in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that governance in the province was strictly based on merit.

Speaking to the media in Peshawar, lawyer Gohar said that some people were politicizing the appointment of doctors in the province. He said he spoke to Khaliq ur Rehman and expressed satisfaction with the process of recruiting doctors.

He added that the party remained focused on the Kashmir elections, while noting that negotiations were currently not taking place on the ground.

Barrister Gohar said shaking hands with Mahmood Khan Achakzai should not be interpreted as capitulation, adding that the PTI represents the people and will continue to raise issues regarding public interests.

KP opposition rejects budget, calling it word juggling

He said the party is approaching courts for every issue related to PTI founder Imran Khan.

The PTI president said democratic differences existed within the party and added that discussions with the chief minister regarding MLAs would continue. He said no one was currently opposed to Sohail Afridi becoming chief minister.

Barrister Gohar pointed out that all party members were following the directives of PTI founder Imran Khan, stating that Sohail Afridi was selected by the party founder and hence had full support.

He further said that party leaders remained united on the budget and the same unity would be found in future issues as well. He added that Ali Amin Gandapur would not contest the chief minister’s seat again, while dismissing reports of any plot against Sohail Afridi or plans to replace him.
