The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore launched the MASA Market in Takashimaya Singapore, showcasing its creative economy and strengthening economic, cultural and trade collaboration with Singapore.

The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore launched the MASA Marketplace creative economy showcase at Takashimaya Department Store, Ngee Ann City on July 2, 2026.

The event was part of Indonesia’s efforts to promote its creative economy internationally while providing a platform for Indonesian brands, entrepreneurs and creative businesses to expand their presence in Singapore. Organized under the theme “MASA: A Glimpse of Indonesia’s Golden Era,” the showcase showcased Indonesian products, innovation and cultural creativity to local and international audiences.

The opening ceremony began with the welcome speech of MASA Executive Director Heliandi (Ando) Fajar Saputra, who introduced the concept and objectives of the exhibition. This was followed by remarks from an Astra representative, highlighting the private sector’s support for Indonesia’s growing creative economy and cross-border collaboration.

Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, HE Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, delivered an official speech, reaffirming the importance of cultural diplomacy and the role of creative industries in strengthening Indonesia-Singapore relations. He stressed that initiatives such as MASA help strengthen people-to-people ties while creating new opportunities for business partnerships and economic cooperation.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Ms. Irene Umar, delivered the opening speech on behalf of the Indonesian Government. She highlighted the importance of Indonesia’s creative economy as a driver of innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth. The ceremony featured a symbolic opening where Deputy Minister Irene Umar, Ambassador Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, a representative from Astra and MASA Impact Advisor Ms. Tiara Josodirjo officially opened the exhibition by striking the MASA stone.
