PDIP asks Jokowi to bring diploma on political safari to NTT
Towa News, Jakarta – The plan of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to continue his political safari in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) after his visit to Lampung received a response from PDI Perjuangan. PDIP DPP Chairman and DPR member from NTT Constituency 1 Andreas Hugo Pareira suggested that Jokowi bring his diploma with him during the visit.
“It is better that you go there (NTT) to bring your diploma so that, if you are asked, you can show it to the public,” Andreas said as quoted by detikNews, Saturday (4/7/2026).
The Deputy Chairman of the Commission, according to him, the presence of this document can be an answer to the public’s questions that have arisen so far.
“Because his case has existed for so long, it has attracted public attention and, socially, it has also become a public issue,” Andreas said.
Andreas added that people from NTT also question the validity of Jokowi’s diploma. He also hopes that the former mayor of Solo will immediately resolve this problem by keeping his promise to appear at trial.
“He is expected at the District Court for the diploma case. He promised to attend. First keep his promise, so that the case can be resolved quickly. Because people in the regions, including in NTT, are also wondering whether Jokowi’s diploma is genuine or fake,” Andreas said as quoted by detikNews, Saturday (4/7/2026).
Previously, it was reported that after visiting Lampung, Jokowi was expected to continue his political safari in NTT. The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) explained the reasons for choosing NTT as the second destination of the visit.
“Pak Jokowi likes NTT, since his tenure he has done a lot of work within NTT,” said PSI DPP Chairman Bestari Barus.
Bestari has not yet confirmed Jokowi’s departure date for NTT, but stressed that the province is his next destination after Lampung, followed by West Java. During his visit to NTT, Jokowi plans to respond to the invitation of the local community and at the same time salute the leadership of PSI in the region.
“(Jokowi will meet) the community of course, the main structure of the PSI, local volunteers too, traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders,” Bestari said.
