What happened during the two-day summit for a free Iran?

The Free Iran Summit was held in Paris on June 20 And 21coinciding with the 45th anniversary of June 20, which marked the beginning of the Iranian people’s national resistance in 1981, the Day of Martyrs and Political Prisoners and the anniversary of the founding of the National Liberation Army of Iran in 1987. The gathering brought together political figures from around the world who stressed the urgent need to support the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy, to recognize the provisional government announced by the National Council of Resistance of Iran and work towards the establishment of a democratic republic.

Charles-Michel called the Iranian regime a “vulnerable” entity on “death,” emphasizing that its reliance on terrorism is a sign of weakness. Michel concluded by urging the international community to abandon the status quo and support organized democratic resistance, saying that “the time for choice is now” to defend a free Iran.

The central question is: change in Iran requires a force capable of bringing about that change.
This requires a force capable of fighting under the harshest repression; a force that can stand alongside the popular uprising and remove the Revolutionary Guards from the path of the Iranian people.

General Joseph Keith Kellogg, former United States special envoy to Ukraine and Russia

General Kellogg recalled the 2002 NCRI revelations revealing the Iranian regime’s secret nuclear facilities at Natanz and Arak, saying that this on-the-ground verification remains the basis for holding the regime accountable. General Kellogg said that a weakened and denuclearized regime is one that the Iranian people can finally confront and overthrow on their own terms.
