Is China financing the democratic socialist wave in American politics?
Warning: The Chinese Communist Party is clearly exploiting the opaque ownership structure of multinational technology companies to fund far-left political subversion across America.
Shanghai-based Maoist tech millionaire Neville Roy Singham is a notorious funder of groups such as the Crypto-Communist People’s Forum, which organizes radical protest riots to support Hamas terrorism and protect the butchers who control Iran; his wife co-leads the extremist Code Pink while his niece is a prominent player in the Democratic Socialists of America and a prominent advisor to Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
The Singhams have become incredibly wealthy in the tech industry, but one has to wonder whether Beijing has staged their success to “wash” a vast fortune that could then undermine the United States, the main obstacle to the CCP’s global domination.
The State Department has identified the Singham network as a tool for Chinese propaganda and influence operations, and it appears this is not a unique case.
America’s new “anti-Zionist” priorities have underpinned almost all of the recent Democratic victories for far-left candidates in the House of Representatives – and the PAC gets much of its money from techies enriched by the Beijing-favored mobile advertising and data company AppLovin, such as Liel Liebovitz reports at Tablet.
AppLovin’s incredible success is itself a mystery, with reported revenues involving obscure cash flows among “independent” entities whose legitimacy appears questionable, as well as possible deceptions by click farms.
And the company tried to sell itself in 2016 to a state-backed Chinese private equity firm, but the federal government blocked the deal on national security grounds.
One of its largest individual shareholders is Hao Tang, a Chinese national with ties to the CCP and who allegedly exercises secret control over the company through offshore shell companies.
Tang is such a questionable character that JPMorgan Chase ended its lucrative banking relationship with him in February over concerns about his business practices.
American Priorities spent millions of dollars during the recent primary cycle to elect rabid anti-American candidates like Darializa Avila Chevalier, who doesn’t believe in borders and thinks putting murderers in jail is a bad idea, and most of that money came from former AppLovin executives Omer Hasan, Mohammad Waqas Javed and Tariq Afaq Ahmed.
No, we see no evidence that these techies, with their sudden interest in donating millions of dollars to far-left candidates, are simply following orders from Beijing.
But China’s pattern of interference in American politics is well documented.
The New York Times reported last week that China, Russia, and Iran are all hysteria-driven to create “grassroots” opposition to new U.S. data centers in a strategic effort to slow the pace of American innovation.
Beijing’s alleged agents gained influence over Governor Kathy Hochul and her predecessor, as well as advisors to then-Mayor Eric Adams; Albany-funded nonprofits with ties to China appear to have interfered in our elections.
In California, Chinese influence operations have hit politicians from the late Sen. Diane Feinstein to Rep. Eric Swalwell.
Liberals generally dismiss concerns about foreign subversion of American politics as McCarthyism, but if China is indeed funding the DSA’s takeover of the Democratic Party, the party majority needs to wake up before it’s too late.
