Jokowi wants Roy Suryo case resolved quickly and respects legal process
JAKARTA, KOMPASTV – The lawyer of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Yakup Hasibuan, said that his client respects the legal process related to the preliminary procedure that Roy Suryo resubmitted.
This was conveyed by Yakup after meeting with Jokowi for an hour and a half in Solo, Central Java, Monday (13/7/2026).
“Earlier, we also got an update that this was the second pre-trial of Pak Roy’s trial, in fact, there might even be a third and so on. Pak Jokowi certainly respects the ongoing process,” said Yakup.
According to Yakup, Jokowi hopes that the case will soon enter the proof stage in court so that legal certainty can be obtained immediately.
“The important thing is that there is an incentive for this case to be quickly tried to the level of proof so that he can obtain legal certainty and this case is quickly resolved. So that there is an end to this case,” he said.
Meanwhile, Roy Suryo again submitted a pre-trial application regarding his designation as a suspect by Polda Metro Jaya.
