Jokowi will attend the trial of Roy Suryo and Tifa and bring all his diplomas
SOLO, KOMPAS.com – The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) confirmed his readiness to attend the evidentiary hearing in the alleged defamation case related to the certificate accusation.
Jokowi plans to bring diplomas of different educational levels into the ongoing legal proceedings.
This commitment was expressed after Jokowi’s lawyer Yakup Hasibuan and his team visited Jokowi’s residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo, Central JavaMonday (13/7/2026).
The meeting was held to discuss developments in the case as well as to finalize preparations for trial.
Yakup Hasibuan said coordination with Jokowi was carried out to update developments in a number of cases currently undergoing legal proceedings.
According to him, the case involving Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma is still at a different stage.
“He had chatter with Mr. Jokowi. We update on current affairs. The trial of Ms. Tifa’s case has begun. “Pak Roy is still awaiting trial,” he said, as quoted by TribunSoloMonday (13/7/2026).
During the discussion, Yakup said, the legal team also prepared the preparatory steps when the trial agenda entered the evidentiary process.

Diplomas will be awarded during the conference
Yakup explained that his party would bring documents Jokowi’s diploma of all levels of education.
Primary and secondary school diplomas will be presented directly to the court, while high school and bachelor’s degree diplomas, currently still under confiscation, will also be presented.
“We are updating the schedule. The preparations are for Mr. Jokowi who wants to appear at the trial to bring the diplomas from primary school, middle school and the diplomas that were confiscated from high school and UGM,” Yakup added.
“So just sharing updates on the developments and, of course, to this day Pak Jokowi is still confident that he will attend the trial,” he added.
Yakup stressed that until now the plan to present Jokowi at the trial of evidence has not changed.

Attendance time: wait for the judge’s decision
Although he confirmed that Jokowi would appear in court, Yakup said the time of his client’s appearance could not be confirmed.
Determining whether Jokowi is summoned at the beginning, middle or end of the evidence agenda is entirely within the authority of the panel of judges in collaboration with the prosecutor.
