PKB regarding Jokowi’s safari: People don’t need a political safari, but a welfare one
DPP National Awakening Party (PKB) Secretary General Mr. Hasanuddin Wahid responded to the political safari led by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
Hasanuddin said anyone has the right to participate in a political safari, including Jokowi. However, according to him, what society needs most is real work to solve various problems.
“If someone wants to travel, if he wants to go on safari, if he wants to help his children, that’s good, if he wants to go on safari, he can help his son-in-law,” Hasanuddin said during a public discussion in the AI & Religion meeting room of the DPP PKB Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (15/7).
He stressed that elites should focus more on fulfilling their duties and responsibilities in their respective fields.
“But what people need is for these elites to work as seriously as possible in their respective fields,” he said.
Hasanuddin said PKB preferred to encourage what he called a “prosperity safari” rather than a political safari.
“What the people need is not a political safari, but a social safari for the PKB,” he said.
However, Hasanuddin confirmed that PKB’s relations with Jokowi are still going well.
“Everything is going well for us,” he said.
Previously, Jokowi participated in a three-day political safari in Lampung province. During this visit, he witnessed the consolidation of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) and motivated the party cadres now led by his son, Kaesang Pangarep.
In Lampung, Jokowi was also awarded the title of National Leader of the Five Traditional Kingdoms of Lampung during a procession held at the Kedatun Keagungan Traditional House in Bandar Lampung City.
