PSI insinuates PDIP after Sukoharjo’s OTT regent Bro Ron: maybe follow the general secretary
Deputy General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Ronald A. Sinaga or colloquially known as Bro Ron made a taunt to the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted an arrest operation (OTT) against Sukoharjo Regent Etik Suryani on Wednesday (15/7/2026) in Solo.
Ronald made the comments after meeting with the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. He admitted he was concerned about allegations of abuse of power that led to the downfall of a regional leader and stressed that any public official must maintain his integrity.
“If it is true that such a practice exists, it is certainly very unfortunate. A leader must be an example and not get involved in issues that harm society,” Ronald said.
According to him, this case serves as a reminder that corrupt practices and abuse of authority must be eradicated so as not to further erode public confidence in the government.
“Corruption, extortion or other forms of abuse of authority must no longer become a culture. Leaders must uphold the mandate given by the community,” he said.
In the middle of his statement, Ronald also made sarcastic comments about PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto when responding to the matter involving the Sukoharjo regent.
“Maybe he wants to follow the style of the general secretary, I don’t know either,” Ronald said.
Meanwhile, the Central Java PDIP DPD chose to respect the ongoing legal proceedings at the KPK. The party stressed that it would follow the organizational mechanism if the status of its cadres had been legally determined in accordance with applicable regulations.

The PDIP also reminded all executives who hold public office to run the government cleanly, transparently and with integrity, as a commitment to the supremacy of law.
So far, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Sukoharjo Regent Etik Suryani and two Sukoharjo Regency government officials as suspects. The investigation process is still being developed.
