Supreme Court to hear Imran Khan contempt case on July 20

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has scheduled July 20 to hear a contempt petition over alleged non-compliance with its earlier directive allowing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to meet his family members and legal team during his detention.

The case will be heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazahar. The petition claims that prison authorities failed to implement the March 24 court order regarding the former prime minister’s visitation rights.

Earlier, on June 18, the bench had issued notices to the Adiala Prison Superintendent, Punjab Home Minister, Attorney General of Pakistan and Advocates General of Punjab and Islamabad, seeking their responses on the issue.

Furthermore, the same bench also set for July 21 the hearing of a case involving lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband.
