JAKARTA – The South Jakarta District Court (PN) will again hold a preliminary hearing filed by telematics expert Roy Suryo regarding his designation as a suspect in the alleged defamation case regarding the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Monday (20/7/2026).

Based on the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) of the South Jakarta District Court, the trial with case number 108/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL is scheduled to be held at 1:00 p.m. WIB in Courtroom 02 with the agenda of reading the verdict.

The case was registered as a pre-trial proceeding regarding the legality or otherwise of the implementation of coercive measures to determine the suspect. The defendant is the Chief of Police of Metro Jaya cq Criminal Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Police cq Kasubdit Kamneg cq Investigation Team and Prosecutor’s Office of DKI Jakarta cq Prosecutor’s Office of DKI Jakarta Aspidum cq Prosecutor’s Office of South Jakarta cq Prosecutor General’s Team (JPU).

The preliminary hearing was reviewed and decided by Single Judge I Ketut Darpawan. Roy filed an application to challenge his designation as a suspect by Polda Metro Jaya in the alleged defamation case regarding Jokowi’s diploma.

Previously, the former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) also filed a separate pre-trial proceeding that tested the legality of the search, arrest and detention carried out by investigators in the same case.
