PSI NTT: Miss Jokowi and Kupang people ready to welcome the return of the 7th president

KUPANG|| Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), dr. Christian Widodo, invites all residents of NTT to welcome the arrival of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who is expected to attend a number of agendas in Kupang City on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
According to Christian Widodo, Jokowi’s presence in Kupang was part of participating in the community’s invitation as well as responding to the invitation to the Kupang City DPD PSI Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda). In addition to attending the party’s internal agenda, Jokowi is also expected to participate in the Car Free Day and Elephant Carnival activities with the community.
“Pak Jokowi came to Kupang in order to respond to the community’s invitation and at the same time attend the coordination meeting of the Kupang City PSI DPD. It is a moment of conviviality eagerly awaited by the population of East Nusa Tenggara,” said Christian Widodo.
According to the activity schedule, the casual ride will start on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 06:00 WITA in the El Tari Kupang area, while the Elephant Carnival will take place at 15:00 WITA in the LLBK area.
Christian said the public’s enthusiasm for Jokowi’s arrival was very high. According to him, many residents have been waiting for a long time for the opportunity to meet the former President of the Republic of Indonesia in person again.
“Pak Jokowi is missed by many. People are looking forward to meeting him in person. That is why we invite the entire community to come together to welcome Pak Jokowi in an atmosphere full of conviviality,” he said.
He assessed that Jokowi’s presence was not only an attraction for the community, but also an impetus to strengthen unity, the spirit of mutual cooperation and optimism in the development of the region.
“This activity is not just a leisurely stroll or a carnival. It is a space where people can come together, strengthen brotherhood and show the national spirit that has made the Indonesian nation strong,” he said.
Christian added that the Car Free Day in El Tari region is a symbol of a healthy lifestyle as well as a forum for community interaction, while the Elephant Carnival in LLBK is expected to become a stage that showcases the rich culture and creativity of the people of NTT.
He also appealed to the entire community to maintain safety, order and cleanliness while participating in the entire series of activities so that the event runs smoothly and leaves a positive impression on all guests present.
