Bruins continues the pursuit of OL
The UCLA Bruins have a fresh, new start ahead of them. The program is entering a new conference with a new technical staff. Things will be different for the Bruins, and things have been so different since head coach DeShaun Foster was hired.
While all of that is true, some things remain the same, like who they target on the recruiting side of everything.
Brandon Huffman of Bruins Online says the program is still focused on Oregon offensive tackle Zac Stascausky. The Bruins offered the three-star recruit in January when former head coach Chip Kelly and offensive line coach Tim Drevno recruited him. Although the former coach recruited Stascausky, this new coaching staff will continue to recruit the Oregon native.
Stascausky told Huffman that the new coaching staff is showing great interest in him.
“The new UCLA staff seems very committed and I am excited to get to know them better,” said Stascausky. “The conversations are great and they send me film and pique my interest.”
Stascausky is from Portland, Oregon, and attends Central Catholic High School. He is the No. 63rd ranked offensive tackle in his class of 2025, and the No. 3 player in Oregon.
He also has offers from BYU, Arizona, Idaho, UNLV and Washington State, to name a few. Although the Bruins have expressed their interest, Stascausky said he is still weighing his options as he will soon begin his senior season.
“Other schools are still trying and nothing is set in stone,” Stascausky said. “All my doors are still open. I have a few more visits planned in the coming weeks.”
