Former Alabama football player Isaiah Buggs arrested again in Tuscaloosa
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – Former Alabama football star Isaiah Buggs was arrested again in Tuscaloosa on Sunday, according to records from the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
According to Officer Stephanie Taylor, TDP responded to the 1600 block of Mimosa Park after a 911 call at 5:28 am. Buggs was arrested at the scene on charges of second-degree domestic violence and second-degree assault.
He was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he is being held for 24 hours on a domestic violence charge and a $5,000 bond.
Buggs was previously charged with animal cruelty in May after two malnourished dogs were found at a Tuscaloosa rental agency after he moved. One of the animals had to be euthanized. Buggs turned himself in to Tuscaloosa police before quitting a band a short time later.
Investigators say Buggs was more than $3,100 behind on rent on the home and was given a lease termination notice in April, according to court records. Buggs denied the allegations, saying the dogs were not his and he did not know they were in the house.
TSCO confirmed Buggs' arrest Sunday but did not release any further information.
According to Officer Taylor, the court documents are expected to be available Monday.
