Incoming men's tennis class, ranked 14th by Tennis Recruiting Network
BABSON PARK, Mass.The Babson College men's tennis program will enroll its 14th recruiting class in Division III this fall, according to the Tennis Recruiting Network (TRN) and Inspiration Academy. have released their top 2024 ranks on Monday.
Head coach Michael Kopelmanwho just completed his sixth season at Babson, has now recruited six consecutive top-25 recruiting classes dating back to 2019. Last year's incoming group was ranked the program's fourth-best by TRN and each of its last four classes has been ranked among the top 15 in Division III.
Joining the Beavers this fall are Sebastian Mendoza from Weston, Florida, Mason Nguyen of El Dorado Hills, California, and Edward Wang from Burr Ridge, Illinois. A four-star recruit, Mendoza possesses the highest Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of the trio at 10.79 and is ranked 174th by TRN. Nguyen is ranked 159th with a UTR of 10.39 and Wang has a UTR of 10.33 and is the 228th player in the class according to TRN.
Both Mendoza and Wang have a World Tennis Number (WTN) rating of 17.6, while Nguyen is currently at 16.8. Mendoza and Nguyen both received a four-star rating.

TRN is enlisting the help of some Division III enthusiasts, coaches and insiders to help with the rankings. In addition to the star rating, they also show the highest TRN, UTR, WTN and International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior rankings for each player, going back to last August.
The Beavers are one of two NEWMAC programs in the top 25, along with 16th-ranked MIT and one of eight New England teams ranked.
Babson finished the 2023-2024 campaign ranked 31st with a 14-9 overall record after advancing to the finals of the NEWMAC Tournament.
