Micah Mazzzcua is not officially a member of the Nebraska football team despite rumors
It's a testament to the Matt Rhule era of Nebraska football that the program was relatively drama-free off the field. However, Bature hates a vacuum and there may have been one soap opera surrounding this team this fall and that has been the will he will or won't be of. Micah Mazzccua remains on the roster for the entire season.
Earlier this weekend it seemed as if the conclusion was that he was already out of the team. There were people who saw him take flight in the opposite direction from the rest of the Huskers. If that happens the day before race day, it is never seen as a good thing.
However, after the Nebraska football team beat Purdue 28-10 on Saturday, head coach Matt Rhule said in no uncertain terms that Mazzccua is not off the team. While that was an interesting nugget, it will probably keep the soap opera going. At least another day.
Rhule added that he would shed more light on the situation during his press conference on Monday afternoon. He added again that he is not apart of the team and also said that the transfer offensive lineman is not with them at the moment.
All this new drama comes a week after things seemed very fluid with Mazzzcua. He was left out of the Northern Iowa game at the last minute. Then Rhule made it clear that he was not injured.
After that game, he said the former Florida Gator and Baylor Bear would not playing against Illinois. Then something changed and it was available but wouldn't start. He was seen in warmups against Illinois but did not appear in the game.
Hopefully, when Monday rolls around, this particular situation will make a little more sense and it won't be the talk of Nebraska football every week.
