The NSU women’s tennis team wins the NCAA crown for the second time in three seasons.

SURPRISE, Ariz. – For the second time in three seasons, the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) women’s tennis team is NCAA Division II National Champions.

The Sharks entered as the No. 3 national seed and captured their second NCAA National Championship after a 4-1 victory over No. 4 seed Catawba on Saturday afternoon.

It was a rematch of a February meeting where the Sharks upended the Indians at the ITA D2 Indoor Championships in Indianapolis, which the Sharks won 4-2 despite dropping the doubles point as they did on Saturday.

“This NCAA National Championship reflects the dedication, discipline and competitive excellence of our women’s tennis program,” said NSU President and CEO Harry K. Moon, MD. “Throughout the season, these student-athletes demonstrated remarkable teamwork, resilience and leadership while representing Nova Southeastern University at the highest level.
