Women’s tennis ends the season eighth in the region
ITA North East Women’s Tennis Regional Ranking
BRONX, NY – The ITA has released the final regional rankings for the 2025-2026 season and the Fordham women’s tennis team finished the season ranked eighth in the Northeast Region. In addition, senior Nevena Kolarevic ranked seventh among all singles players, while Kolarevic teamed with junior Julianne Nguyen to rank third among all doubles teams.
Kolarevic capped one of the best women’s tennis careers in Fordham history by winning the Hobbs Family Award as the top female student-athlete at the Block F Dinner in April. She was named the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Performer for the second year in a row – just the fourth person in A-10 history to do so – as well as First Team All-Conference. Last fall, she qualified in doubles for the 2025 NCAA Division I individual championships, becoming the first Fordham player to compete in the individual NCAA championships, and one of only three in Atlantic 10 history. She also qualified in singles and doubles for the 2025 ITA All-American Championships, winning three singles matches at the prestigious tournament featuring the nation’s top NCAA Division I players. She is the first player from Fordham to win an ITA All-American game.
Nguyena Second Team All-Atlantic 10 pick this year after earning First Team honors last year, appeared with Kolarevic at both the ITA and NCAA Championships in doubles this year. She was 20-6 in singles in 2025-26, 6-1 at sixth. She also compiled a record of 28-11 in doubles, 11-6 at first doubles, which was the most doubles wins for the Rams this year.
The Rams played one of the toughest games in program history, finishing with a 15–10 record, winning their last nine games to earn their second consecutive number one seed at the Atlantic 10 Championship.
