Champions crowned on July 4 at the 2026 U.S. National Table Tennis Championships

SAN JOSE, Calif. – On the nation’s 250th birthday, competition kicked off Day 2 of the 2026 U.S. National Table Tennis Championships, where national titles were awarded in the adult and junior divisions.

Seth Pech competed at the US Nationals for the first time since the 2022 tournament in Dallas-Fort Worth, capturing the 30 & Over Men’s Singles title in back-to-back matches against Mohammadreza Akhlaghpasand.

“The fact that I can play this over 30, the under 2600, and then the men’s singles, you know, it’s a big draw for me because I get to play a lot of matches, so it’s more fun because I love playing,” Pech said.

In the afternoon the singles champions for boys and girls U13 were decided. In addition to the gold medals, the U13 events also had significant implications for the U.S. Junior National Team rankings.

Chirag Pradhan, representing Table Tennis America, strengthened his position at the No. 1 ranking among the U.S. U13 boys. He defeated Jacob Kordus 3-1 (7-11, 11-3, 11-4, 11-9) in the boys final.

“I didn’t expect to become a champion,” Pradhan said after the match. “I would like to thank my parents, coaches and my friends for their help during this tournament. Without them I couldn’t have done it.”

In a fitting conclusion to the U13 girls’ singles, Emma Yang and Anya Shanbhag, the two top-ranked U13 girls in the country, met in the final.

Emma Yang earned her first U13 national title after finishing second in the last two U.S. National Championships.

“I was pretty nervous, but at the same time I didn’t really care because I knew she was better than me and she beat me in the past,” Yang said. “It just feels great to be here because I’ve lost a lot of her in the past, and I’m just really happy because this is the first time I’m the first.”

Both U13 champions improved their positions in the U.S. National Team U13 rankings, with Yang remaining No. 2 and closing the points gap to No. 1 ranked Anya Shanbhag.

More finals, more medals and more memorable moments lie ahead as the competition continues all week in San Jose.
