15 revolutionary technologies you may not yet know

In the consumer and business world, technology is constantly and rapidly evolving. Unique and innovative new business and health technologies are emerging every day, but it may take a little time for the next big thing to be recognized and spread. Google, for example, launched the original iteration of G-Suite in 2006 long before cloud computing and real-time collaboration became the norm.

As leaders in technology, members of the Forbes Technology Council are always on the lookout for emerging devices, programs and systems that could revolutionize their industry even if the technology is still in its infancy. We asked a group of them to share the most impressive technology of the past three years that most people have yet to experience. Here’s why they believe these 15 technologies will be huge in the near future.

1. Quantum computing

Quantum computing has already found niche applications today. In recent years, more and more funds have become available to take quantum circuits into new arenas, including imaging, detection and measurement. Quantum computing is a game changer because it changes the fundamental paradigm of how computing is delivered across many industries and in the era of Big Data, computing is everything. – Ravi Subramanian, Mentor Graphics

2. Devices that combine innovation and confidentiality

The nature and use of data collected via devices and their relationship to privacy have been at the center of my concerns, and privacy has evolved over the past decade. The current COVID-19 crisis is a perfect example of our need to balance research, information and personal protection. Our current regulatory environment stifles innovation and does not really protect the individual. It is a losing proposition. – Hillit Meidar-Alfi, spatially

3. Architecture of the transformer neural network

The architecture of the Transformer neural network has revolutionized natural language processing capabilities (for example, Google’s BERT and OpenAI’s GPT-2). Since 2017, Transformer networks have significantly improved their performance on tasks ranging from voice recognition to answering questions. This technology has reduced barriers to activities such as personalized tutoring and AI-based customer support. – Mike Moniz, Circadence Corporation

4. WeChat

The WeChat app is huge in China. Think of WhatsApp, PayPal, FB and LinkedIn all in one, and much more. WeChat has a feature that lets you shake your phone and it will automatically connect you with someone nearby and / or around the world if it shakes their phone at the same time. – William Charles Lee, GQIT

5. Automated cloud user interface testing

We use Qentinel, a cloud-based user interface testing framework based on a robot framework. Qentinel makes testing easier for technicians, and we can add that to our construction automation stack. Unit testing has always had the best value for money. Qentinel could move that. – Patrick Emmons, DragonSpears, Inc.

6. Monitoring the security and compliance of the blockchain

The significant rise in awareness and interest in cryptocurrencies in 2017, when prices reached historic levels, resulted in the need for rapid developments in blockchain security and compliance. These technologies and tools often work in the background (unknown to many) but are essential for protecting blockchain platforms as well as for identifying fraud, anti-money laundering and compliance issues. – Jason Lau, Crypto.com

7. FIDO2

Without a doubt, the most impressive technology that can impact human behavior and cybersecurity is FIDO2. It is the first solution that makes the most complex authentication technology easy to use from an end-user perspective, even laptops will be pleased with their user experience. If companies do not support it, users should flood the site support with FIDO2 connection requests. – Arshad Noor, StrongKey

8. AutoAI

Most people have heard of artificial intelligence, but most people are unfamiliar with AutoAI, deep learning and reinforcement in particular, or the transformation the industry has undergone. This changes the game because it democratizes the creation of models to a much wider audience, which makes it possible to create simple models and accelerate the pace of adoption of AI. – Alyssa Simpson Rochwerger, Appen

9. Visible antimicrobial light

Although COVID-19 has brought viral infection to the fore, we often forget about bacterial infections. Overuse of antibiotics results in superbugs, causing more than 2.8 million antibiotic resistant infections each year in the United States alone. A new wave of products using visible blue light as a first-line antimicrobial will help limit the use of antibiotics when they are really needed. – Steve Pao, Hillwork, LLC

10. Remote status monitoring

Most people do not know how much impact technologies that allow remote monitoring of the condition can have. Sensors that you can attach to equipment can alert a plant manager when the temperature is too high in critical locations where food is stored. Predictive maintenance technologies change the workforce and allow technicians to prevent firefighting activities before they occur. – Ryan Chan, UpKeep Maintenance Management

11. Googles – Automated phone calls and answering for help

Google’s automated phone calls and response support are impressive. In addition, its availability on Android allows the technology to act as an almost personal assistant for filtering phone calls and basic tasks such as setting up meetings, etc. It is not so much for personal use, but it is a game changer for everyday professional life. – Robert Weissgraeber, AX Semantics

12. Dual lens cameras

GoPro has significantly improved its hardware over the past three years. The GoPro Max is a cross between an action camera and a 360-degree camera. It’s the best of both worlds. The camera provides excellent image stabilization while giving users the ability to change the point of view through 360-degree capture. Equipment like this gives people the opportunity to show unique perspectives of their favorite activities. – Abishek Surana Rajendra, hero of the course

13. Splitting of telegrams

Telegram splitting is a new radio approach to long-range wireless communication developed by the Fraunhofer Institute (IIS) and standardized by ETSI. With this technology, for the first time, low-power WANs become highly scalable and robust against interference to enable large-scale IoT deployment and democratized wireless communication in the unlicensed spectrum. – Wolfgang Thieme, BehrTech

14. Omniscience and forecast of the next best action

With the advent of machine learning, marketers can now compile and synthesize large amounts of heterogeneous data from a variety of sources to quickly identify trends in demographics and customer journeys. This data-based information is invaluable in designing effective multi-touch attribution models and predicting the next best action strategy that drives customers to make purchases. – Christopher Yang, Business Travel Management

15. Color changing medical tattoos

MIT has worked on medical tattoos that will change color when your body changes. Such a tattoo measures glucose levels in diabetics to provide alerts when glucose levels are extremely low or extremely high. It’s a huge game change for people with illnesses that require constant monitoring. In the future, they might just look at their tattoo for a quick checkup. – Michael Hoyt, Life Cycle Engineering, Inc.

16. Consumer eSIM

Launched with Google Pixel a few years ago and now widely available on flagship smartphones like the iPhone 11 / XR / XS and the Samsung Galaxy S20, the integrated SIM card (eSIM) allows consumers to change wireless plans in just a few clicks, without having to physically change SIM cards. eSIM is a game-changer because it eliminates the hassle and hassle of physical SIM cards and gives consumers more choice. – Ahmad (Al) Fares, CeliTech Inc.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
