2 dead as part of the building under construction collapse in Noida

Two people died and three were injured after the front of a building collapsed in the Noidas 11 sector on Friday evening.
Police said the incident happened shortly after 7pm as the evening shift of workers involved in the construction of part of the building was coming to an end. Rescue operations had continued until late at night.
We received information that a part of a building under construction collapsed in the industrial unit of Sector 11. The action was taken by the fire brigade and the police together with the administration teams. The injured have been taken to the district hospital and we are looking for survivors. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was informed and they sent technical assistance from Ghaziabad. Rescue operations are underway, Alok Singh, CP, Gautam Buddh Nagar said on Friday evening.
While Gopi (22), a plumber, and Jaynendra (40), a contractor, were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, Sagar and Rahul are undergoing treatment. The wife of the company owner, who allegedly had views of the construction work, is also among those injured.
According to an official, the victims, who were from Kanpur, suffered head injuries. While Sagari greets from Ghaziabad, Rahul is from Baghpat.
Police said the building had an electrical panel production unit, and plumbing work was being carried out on the front. The part under construction gave way, blocking workers.
Locals said they heard a loud sound of a falling structure, followed by screaming. According to an eyewitness, an iron cloth on the second floor of the building gave way and a small portion of a false ceiling collapsed further, crushing four people.
More than 20 police and firefighters and dozens of locals could be seen involved in the rescue operations.
The locals tried to break small pieces of stone slabs to save the workers from the iron rods that were coming out of the rubbish.
The industrial unit, called Shakti Techno Fab Products, belongs to a local resident. The company specializes in the production of electrical components and switches.
Founded in 1985, it employs about 10 people and attracts to the plastics, refrigeration and pharmaceutical industries. Locals said a small group of workers were doing construction work at the time.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath acknowledged the incident and issued guidelines for the adequate treatment of the injured. Commissioner Alok Singh and District Magistrate Suhas LY inspected the site along with other officials.
Noida Authority engineers also examined the crash site to determine the cause of the collapse and whether the building had permits and documents in order.
An investigation order has been ordered by the DM to determine the exact cause of the collapse.
